Weekly Photo Challenge: Trio

In response to the Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Trio.

I took this photo on last weekend’s getaway to… Angkor. Seriously, it’s a beautiful place. Until now, I still can’t believe that I have a chance in my life to go to one of the most outstanding archaeological park in the world.

And when I know that this week’s theme is “Trio”, I couldn’t help myself from laughing unbelievably, because most of the photos are contained this theme somewhat. Talk about God’s secret! But, to choose is to choose, and I choose this one to be my entry:

The three apsaras.

An apsara is, a celestial nymph. In Indonesia, we called it “bidadari”, beautiful woman lives in heaven, usually be a deity’s companion.

I took this photo in… Preah Khan. You should visit it when you have a tour near Angkor. It’s a beautiful temple with an unique taste that make your awareness in unseen things multiplied by… a hundred, maybe. Different feelings with different visions. A true experience in seeing archaic things is a spiritual experience, and for the first time overseas, I could feel it.

One of them is seeing an apsara angry and full of fierce when you see it, while the other apsaras is still in their eternal smile.

I hoped I had seen it wrong… but it didn’t.

  2. Ooo lucky you, still I haven’t any chance to visit it yet. But coincidentally, this morning my workmate gave me a map of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat Complex. Is it a sign?
